How to Measure Your Shower Opening
Step 1: Measure the Width
Using a tape measure, measure the width of your shower opening at three points:
- Top (near the ceiling)
- Middle (halfway down)
- Bottom (near the floor/tub)
Record the smallest measurement. This ensures your door will fit even if walls are slightly uneven.
Step 2: Measure the Height
Measure from the floor (or top of tub) to the desired height. Standard shower door heights are 72" and 76".
Step 3: Check Wall Condition
Ensure walls are plumb (vertically straight). If walls are uneven by more than 1/4", you may need additional adjustment or professional installation.
